Volunteer Opportunities
Step 1: To get started please complete the
volunteer survey.
Click here to fill out the volunteer application.
Step 2: Attend a volunteer orientation at the
Niagara SPCA. This orientation will include a tour of the
facility, meeting staff and other volunteers, an explanation
of our mission, an overview of volunteer opportunities, distribution
of the Volunteer Handbook and completion of forms, information about
training sessions, Q & A discussion and more. You will be
notified of orientation dates and times. Duration : 1 hour.
Step 3:
Attend a required training session.
When working with animals, we want to ensure health and safety and
emotional wellbeing for everyone: the animals, the volunteers
and staff and the public. The training sessions will help
volunteers to be consistent in working toward goals. You will
be notified of training dates and times.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Dog Enrichment, General Dog Walking
Objective: Exercise and provide training for dogs available
for adoption.
Cat Companion
Objective: To socialize and groom cats.
Fundraising/Events/Community Outreach
Objective: To organize and implement fundraising avenues and
represent the SPCA at community events to pass out information to
the public.
